Academic Capital Partners seeks $300 million for debut PE fund
Academic Capital Partners plans to raise $300 million for its first PE fund, targeting a 5% distribution yield and investing in K-12 school assets across Asia and the Middle East, starting fundraising in about two weeks.
Private equity firm Academic Capital Partners is looking to raise $300 million for its first fund, which will begin fundraising in approximately two weeks.
The Singapore-based firm, founded by Atul Temurnikar and Vishal Thapliyal, is planning to invest in school assets in Asia and the Middle East, Temurnikar is also the founder of Global Schools Group, while Thapliyal is a former partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The firm’s ACP Educational Opportunities Fund targets a 5% distribution yield, and its general partner plans to contribute 5% of the fund’s total capital.
The company plans to conduct an initial close in the first quarter of next year.
The firm plans to use capital from its debut fund to pursue K-12 education businesses that generate between $1 million and $5 million in EBITDA.
The fund plans to focus on opportunities across Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
