European session sees firmer US futures, softer dollar and oil

European trading shows S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, Dow and Russell futures higher, the dollar index lower, EUR/USD and GBP/USD firmer, while WTI and Brent crude decline.

US index futures are showing S&P futures up 0.12 percent, Nasdaq futures up 0.29 percent, Dow futures up 0.1 percent, and Russell futures up 0.35 percent.

In currencies, the dollar index is down 0.16 percent.

EUR/USD is up 0.15 percent, GBP/USD is up 0.12 percent, and EUR/GBP is up 0.04 percent.

WTI crude is at 86.33, down 0.58 percent, and Brent crude is at 93.4, down 0.41 percent.

UK volume leaders include Lloyds Banking Group down 0.54 percent, BP up 2.39 percent, Barclays down 1.43 percent, HSBC up 0.36 percent, and Shell up 0.57 percent.

Continental European volume leaders are Deutsche Telekom down 1.58 percent, UBS down 0.37 percent, Novartis down 0.61 percent, SAP down 0.14 percent, and Nestle up 0.08 percent.
