European session: U.S. futures rise, dollar weakens

European trading shows S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, Dow and Russell futures higher, while the dollar index falls and EUR/USD, GBP/USD and WTI crude edge up.

US index futures are showing S&P futures up 0.43%, Nasdaq futures up 0.44%, Dow futures up 0.51%, and Russell futures up 0.78%.

In currencies, the dollar index is down 0.65%, EUR/USD is up 0.64%, GBP/USD is up 0.62%, and EUR/GBP is up 0.02%.

Oil prices show WTI crude at 84.24, up 0.21%, and Brent crude at 91.15, up 0.14%.

UK volume leaders include Barclays up 0.3%, Lloyds Banking Group down 0.4%, HSBC up 0.53%, AstraZeneca up 0.71%, and BP up 0.41%.

Continental European volume leaders are Deutsche Telekom down 0.07%, UBS up 0.7%, Novartis up 0.16%, SAP down 1.07%, and Nestle down 0.25%.
