Nebius falls as inflation fears and higher yields hit growth stocks

Nebius Group NV (NASDAQ: NBIS) shares trade lower as investors rotate away from AI cloud names amid inflation worries, rising bond yields and broader energy-market तनाव cited in the feed.

Nebius Group NV (NASDAQ: NBIS ) shares are trading lower Tuesday as a broader retreat hits AI cloud stocks, with investors growing warier of high-growth names whose customers rely on borrowed capital to fund AI infrastructure spending, now that inflation worries and climbing bond yields are back in focus.

Nebius Group stock is taking a hit today.

Why is NBIS stock falling? Iran Tensions and Rising Yields Weigh on NBIS Stock A ceasefire breakdown between the U.S. and Iran is rippling through energy markets and, from there, into growth stocks like Nebius.

The Trump administration opted against extending Iran’s temporary truce, and Tehran responded by vowing a tougher military posture, stoking fears that key oil shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz could come under threat.

Brent crude climbed above $91 a barrel, WTI pushed toward $85, and natural gas edged higher too, all feeding concerns that energy costs are set to climb further.

Those higher energy prices carry real weight for a stock like Nebius.

Costlier oil tends to feed straight into inflation, which limits how much room the Federal Reserve has to lower interest rates anytime soon.

Bond markets reacted almost instantly Tuesday, with the 10-year Treasury yield jumping to 4.74% and the two-year climbing to 4.19%.

That jump in yields lands particularly hard on AI infrastructure names for a couple of reasons.

Nebius’ valuation depends heavily on profits Wall Street expects to materialize years down the road, and when yields rise, those distant profits get discounted more aggressively, since investors can now collect a better return simply by parking money in bonds.

On top of that, a meaningful chunk of the AI buildout Nebius sells into gets financed through customer borrowing, and pricier debt makes that spending harder to justify, which threatens to slow the demand growth investors are betting on.

Nebius’ Longer-Term Uptrend Holds, Even After Tuesday’s Drop Nebius shares remain 17.2% above their 20-day moving average and 67.8% above their 200-day moving average, keeping the stock’s broader uptrend intact even with the added volatility.

The picture gets more mixed looking at the medium term: the 20-day average sitting below the 50-day average points to weaker short-term momentum, while the 50-day average holding above the 200-day average suggests the longer-term bullish structure is still standing.

Momentum offers a clearer signal than price action alone.

The MACD is currently above its own signal line with a positive histogram, suggesting the recent selling pressure is easing even though the stock’s day-to-day moves remain choppy.

In plain terms, the stock may still be bouncing around, but it doesn’t appear to be accelerating to the downside.

That sets up two levels worth watching closely.

On the downside, traders want to see whether Nebius can hold above the $200 area, close to where the stock bottomed out in July, since a deeper break below that zone would start to undercut the case that the stock remains above its major trend lines.

On the upside, reclaiming the pivot zone near June’s highs would be a signal that dip-buyers are stepping back in.

The key levels to watch are $279 on the upside and $200.50 on the downside.

NBIS Shares Are Dipping NBIS Price Action: Nebius shares were down 8.35% at $246.39 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Pro.
