European cash markets close lower across major indexes

European cash markets finished lower: the Euro Stoxx 50 closed down 0.14 percent, the DAX closed down 0.38 percent, the CAC 40 closed down 0.66 percent and the FTSE 100 closed down 0.28 percent.

UK volume leaders were Lloyds Banking Group down 0.43 percent, Barclays down 0.98 percent, BP down 0.63 percent, HSBC up 0.21 percent and Shell up 0.29 percent. continental European volume leaders were Deutsche Telekom down 0.98 percent, Nestle down 2.84 percent, UBS unchanged at 0 percent, SAP down 0.31 percent and Novartis up 0.78 percent.
