European stocks close mixed as DAX rises, others slip

European cash markets finished mixed: the Euro Stoxx 50 closed down 0.09 percent, the DAX closed up 0.53 percent, the CAC 40 closed down 0.16 percent and the FTSE 100 closed down 0.21 percent.

UK volume leaders were Lloyds Banking Group down 0.09 percent, BP up 0.1 percent, Barclays up 0.29 percent, HSBC up 0.13 percent and Shell up 0.97 percent. continental European volume leaders were Deutsche Telekom up 0.88 percent, SAP up 2.71 percent, UBS up 0.14 percent, Nestle down 0.07 percent and Novartis down 1.05 percent.
