Palantir Posts Q2 Double Beat
Palantir Technologies reports Q2 revenue of $1.94 billion and adjusted earnings of 41 cents per share
Palantir Technologies Inc (NASDAQ: PLTR ) shares are trading lower on Wednesday as traders digest a sharp, weeklong run-up and some profit-taking.
Here’s what investors need to know.
Palantir Technologies stock is under selling pressure.
What’s pulling PLTR shares down? What Fueled Palantir’s Recent Surge? Palantir last week posted a second-quarter double beat, reporting revenue of $1.94 billion versus $1.8 billion expected and adjusted earnings of 41 cents per share versus 35 cents expected.
Management also lifted full-year 2026 revenue guidance to a new range of $8.15 billion to $8.16 billion, up from a prior forecast of $7.65 billion to $7.66 billion, helping fuel the week’s surge.
Palantir’s second-quarter print also featured 93% year-over-year revenue growth and $1.22 billion in operating cash flow, reinforcing the momentum driving the stock.
U.S. revenue surged 115% year-over-year to $1.57 billion, with U.S. commercial revenue up 149% to $764 million.
Palantir’s government-AI narrative remains in focus after the Pentagon’s Maven Smart System was described as supporting thousands of strikes against Iran and becoming the military’s primary AI operating system in March.
That same setup highlights a potential constraint: a defense analyst recently warned the U.S. used " virtually all " of its long-range precision missile stockpile during a five-month conflict, shifting attention from software speed to weapons supply, as missiles needed to keep pace.
Following Palantir’s quarterly results, several analysts raised price targets ranging from $156 to $245 with a majority of price targets coming in above the $200 level.
The stock carries a Buy rating with an average price forecast of $194.43.
Critical Price Levels To Watch For PLTR Even after Wednesday’s dip, PLTR is still extended above its trend gauges: about 20.8% above the 20-day SMA ($141.20) and 12.1% above the 200-day SMA ($152.19), which often raises the odds of a cooldown or sideways consolidation.
The shorter-term structure is constructive (20-day SMA above the 50-day), but the bigger-picture "death cross" from February (50-day below 200-day) is a reminder that the longer-term trend only recently improved.
For momentum, MACD is the cleaner read right now: it’s above its signal line and the histogram is positive, which points to improving momentum versus the prior downswing even if price is choppy day to day.
In plain English, when MACD stays above its signal line, it suggests buying pressure is outweighing selling pressure on a trend basis.
Key Resistance: $187.50 — a nearby pivot area where a rebound can stall after a fast run toward the upper end of the 52-week range Key Support: $148.00 — a nearby floor that sits close to the 200-day area ($152.19) and lines up with a prior "buyers stepped in" zone Palantir Edge Scorecard Below is the Edge scorecard for Palantir Technologies, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses compared to the broader market: Momentum: Bullish (Score: 72.5/100) — The stock’s trend has been strong enough to keep it in an upper-tier momentum bucket, even with Wednesday’s pullback.
Value: Bearish (Score: 1.76) — The market is pricing in a lot of future execution, leaving little room for disappointment at this valuation.
Growth: Bullish (Score: 96.31/100) — Growth expectations remain a key pillar of the bull case, consistent with the recent guidance lift and demand narrative.
The Verdict: Palantir Technologies’s Edge signal reveals a classic High-Flyer setup, with elite Growth and strong Momentum offset by very weak Value.
For longer-term holders, the main risk is that any slowdown in execution can hit a premium multiple quickly, while the main opportunity is that sustained growth can keep the trend supported through consolidations.
