Super Micro Computer shares are under pressure.
Why is SMCI stock retreating? What’s Next For SMCI Stock Ahead of Earnings Super Micro is set to report fourth-quarter results after the bell today.
Analysts project adjusted earnings of 62 cents per share on revenue of $12.33 billion.
If Super Micro can meet or exceed analyst estimates, the results would represent a reversal from the third quarter, when revenue came in at $10.24 billion, missing the same $12.33 billion consensus figure.
Third-quarter earnings of 84 cents per share beat the 62-cent estimate by 35.48%, and a fourth-quarter EPS figure at or above that same 62-cent mark would extend that beat streak, though it would still land below the company’s own guided range of 65 cents to 79 cents per share.
Super Micro’s Fourth-Quarter Guidance Super Micro guided fourth-quarter adjusted earnings between 65 cents and 79 cents per share, above the 55-cent analyst estimate at the time.
The company guided revenue between $11 billion and $12.5 billion, above the $11.07 billion estimate.
SMCI Stock Technical Levels to Watch SMCI is trading 8.9% above its 20-day simple moving average of $28.53, but remains 0.9% below its 50-day simple moving average of $31.36 and 2.8% below its 200-day simple moving average of $31.97.
Those levels keep the stock’s intermediate-term trend from fully turning bullish.
The bigger technical overhang is a death cross that formed in December 2025, when the 50-day moving average crossed below the 200-day moving average.
That setup often turns the area around the 200-day average into “sell-the-rip” territory until the stock can reclaim it.
The stock’s Relative Strength Index sits at 52.49, a neutral reading that suggests SMCI isn’t stretched enough in either direction to force capitulation selling or a momentum chase.
RSI measures whether recent buying or selling has become overheated, and the current level points to range-bound trading rather than a breakout.
Key levels remain fairly clean.
Bulls want to see the stock build acceptance back above its longer moving averages, while bears will watch whether the stock’s recent rebound loses steam and rolls back into its prior swing-low zone from July.
May’s rally, when RSI reached overbought territory, and March’s selloff, when RSI hit oversold territory, frame the current move as a mid-range reset rather than the start of a new trend.
Key Resistance: $36.50, a nearby pivot area where rebounds can stall, sitting well above the stock’s current cluster of major moving averages Key Support: $25.50, a prior demand zone near the lower end of the stock’s recent trading range and not far above its 52-week low of $19.48 SMCI Shares Are Dipping SMCI Price Action: Super Micro shares were down 0.45% at $31.33 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Pro.
