Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE: BAM ) and Warburg Pincus led July’s biggest private equity deals, helping drive global private equity and venture capital deal value to $43.31 billion, up for a second straight month, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence. • Brookfield Asset Mgmt stock is showing exceptional strength.

Why are BAM shares rallying? Brookfield agreed to acquire battery storage developer Aypa Power from Blackstone Energy Transition Partners for $7 billion, while Warburg Pincus led a $7 billion deal to acquire a controlling stake in specialty pharmacy operator Pantherx Specialty from Nautic Partners, General Atlantic and The Vistria Group.

The two transactions were among 11 deals worth at least $1 billion announced globally in July, as investors increasingly focused on larger transactions, the S&P report noted.

Brookfield also participated in another major deal, agreeing to acquire LXP Industrial Trust in a $4.94 billion all-cash take-private transaction alongside Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.

Overall, July deal value rose from $40.57 billion in June and $27.47 billion in May, marking the second consecutive monthly increase.

But the number of transactions fell to 230 from 242 in June.

Through July 31, global private equity and venture capital deal value reached $333.08 billion, up 27% from $263.03 billion during the same period in 2025.

At the same time, transaction volume declined 13% to 1,622 deals.

The divergence points to a market in which investors are favoring larger and potentially more strategic investments.

The consumer sector attracted the most private equity capital in July, accounting for $14.20 billion in deal value.

Industrial companies generated the most transactions, with 71 deals during the month.

Construction and engineering were particularly active within the industrial sector.

The subsector recorded 16 deals in July, more than twice the seven transactions announced in July 2025.

The July figures underscore a private equity market gaining momentum in dollar terms, but not yet in deal volume.

With 2026 transaction value up 27% from a year earlier while the number of deals has fallen 13%, investors appear to be concentrating capital in fewer, larger transactions.
