Taiwan Builds a "Drone Hellscape" to Deter China Taiwan is rapidly expanding its drone capabilities as part of a strategy to make a potential Chinese invasion extremely costly.
The island aims to produce 100,000 drones per month by 2030, including aerial and maritime systems.
The "drone hellscape" concept would use large numbers of unmanned systems to detect, track and strike invading forces across the Taiwan Strait.
Inspired partly by lessons from Ukraine, Taiwan is betting on swarms of relatively low-cost drones to offset China's much larger military.
