During Thursday's earnings call reported, founder and CEO JoeBen Bevirt discussed hydrogen research. "Hydrogen has three times the specific energy of jet fuel," Bevirt said. "We think this is the biggest disruption in aviation since the invention of the turbine engine back in the 1930s." Critical Levels To Watch for JOBY Stock From a trend perspective, JOBY is still working out of a longer-term drawdown (down 55.39% over the past 12 months), and the bigger moving averages continue to define overhead supply.
The stock is about 4% below its 50-day SMA at $8.81, about 6.8% below its 100-day SMA at $9.08, and about 24.6% below its 200-day SMA at $11.22—levels that typically need to be reclaimed before the chart looks structurally "fixed." Near-term, the stock is back above its 20-day SMA ($7.50) and 20-day EMA ($7.74), which supports the idea of a short-term bounce gaining traction.
That said, the 20-day SMA remains below the 50-day SMA (bearish), and the death cross from February (50-day below the 200-day) reinforces that rallies can still face selling pressure.
Key Resistance: $10 — a round-number area that also sits below the 200-day and near prior pivot territory where rebounds can stall Key Support: $7 — a nearby floor near the recent low zone, with buyers previously stepping in around this area JOBY Price Action: Joby Aviation shares were up 8.85% at $8.49 at the time of publication on Thursday, according to Pro data.
