Dow Jumps 500 Points; Disney Earnings Beat Views

U.S. stocks traded higher this morning, with the Dow Jones index gaining over 500 points on Wednesday.

Following the market opening Wednesday, the Dow traded up 0.94% to 54,592.81 while the NASDAQ rose 0.45% to 26,705.30.

The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 0.68% to 7,788.79.

Leading and Lagging Sectors Health care shares jumped by 1.5% on Wednesday.

In trading on Wednesday, utilities stocks fell by 0.9%.

Top Headline Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS ) reported better-than-expected fiscal third-quarter earnings.

Adjusted earnings increased to $2.06 per share, beating the analyst consensus estimate of $1.86.

Revenue rose 7% year over year to $25.25 billion but came in slightly below analysts’ estimate of $25.40 billion.

Equities Trading UP Yxt.com Group (NASDAQ: YXT ) shares shot up 219% to $8.30.

YXT.com recently regained Nasdaq compliance.

Shares of INLIF Ltd (NASDAQ: INLF ) got a boost, surging 120% to $6.99.

INLIF will hold extraordinary general meeting on Aug.

Reitar Logtech Holdings Ltd ( NASDAQ: RITR ) shares were also up, gaining 91% to $0.28. he company recently announced that its Jingxing HK unit signed an MoU with Cainiao to cooperate on smart warehousing and automated logistics projects overseas.

Equities Trading DOWN Tigo Energy Inc ( NASDAQ: TYGO ) shares dropped 48% to $1.06 after the company reported mixed second-quarter results and cut its FY26 sales guidance below estimates.

Shares of China SXT Pharmaceuticals Inc ( NASDAQ: SXTC ) were down 39% to $0.075.

China SXT Pharmaceuticals announced a 1-for-80 reverse stock split, effective Aug.

Recon Technology Ltd (NASDAQ: RCON ) was down, falling 50% to $0.21.

Recon Technology recently announced a $100 million “at-the-market” equity offering program.

Commodities In commodity news, oil traded up 0.2% to $75.89 while gold traded up 2.4% at $4,253.40.

Silver traded up 3.3% to $62.205 on Wednesday, while copper rose 0.7% to $6.6900.

Euro zone European shares were higher today.

The eurozone’s STOXX 600 gained 0.3%, while Spain’s IBEX 35 Index rose 0.4% London’s FTSE 100 gained 0.5%, Germany’s DAX gained 0.2%, while France’s CAC 40 gained 0.1%.

Asia Pacific Markets Asian markets closed higher on Wednesday, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 gaining 3.66%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rising 0.24%, China’s Shanghai Composite rising 1.47% and India’s BSE Sensex rising 0.19%.

Economics U.S. private businesses added 44,000 jobs in July, compared to a revised 95,000 gain in the previous month and down from market estimates of 70,000.
