The Trillion-Dollar Math AMD’s market cap sits at $790.127 billion as of Monday’s close, plus Tuesday’s 7% gain, leaving a real gap of 18.9% to the trillion-dollar mark.
Getting there works out to a share price of roughly $613.27, assuming the share count holds steady.
Four of Wall Street’s most recent price-target hikes put that milestone squarely in play: Susquehanna’s $500 target, Wedbush’s $600, Goldman Sachs’ $640, and Cantor Fitzgerald’s street-high $700 all imply a trillion-dollar valuation is plausible within analysts’ own 12-month horizons — some of them soon.

What that history actually shows should give both bulls and bears pause: AMD finished lower the day after earnings in seven of those 12 reports, despite missing consensus only twice in three years — and both misses were by fractions of a cent.
Even beats haven’t guaranteed gains.
AMD topped estimates in ten of those 12 quarters, but the stock only closed higher the next day five times.
In February, AMD posted its biggest surprise in three years — beating consensus by more than 16% — and the stock still plunged 17.3%.
In May, a smaller 6% beat sent shares up 18.6%, the strongest post-earnings pop in the sample.
What Wall Street Wants to Hear Tonight Wedbush’s Matt Bryson, who raised his target to $600, is calling AMD’s roster of “frontier-lab and enterprise partners” unusually deep, pointing to expanding work with Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT ) and Anthropic, and forecasting 2026 revenue of $49.2 billion with EPS of $7.22.
Susquehanna’s Christopher Rolland, who lifted his target to $500 last week, is looking for data-center strength to carry the print, citing continued momentum in EPYC processors and Instinct accelerators. ’s analyst tracker shows 27 buy ratings against just 5 holds across 32 analysts, with an average target of $533 — and of the 11 rating updates issued between July 14 and July 30, eight raised their price targets and none cut them.
The Bottom Line Investors aren’t buying AMD for where its AI revenue has been — they’re buying it for where multi-gigawatt deployments with OpenAI, Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META ) and Anthropic say it’s headed next.
Whether tonight’s guidance is strong enough to close that 18.9% gap to $1 trillion, or whether AMD becomes the eighth of its last 12 reports to sell off the morning after, comes down to one thing: the outlook, not the number.
AMD Stock Price Activity: AMD stock was up 7.18% at $519.41 at the time of publication Tuesday, according to data Pro.
