Continued momentum from last week’s earnings beat, a broad market rally following President Donald Trump’s decision to call off planned strikes on Iran and constructive analyst commentary following the quarterly report.

Alphabet shares are climbing with conviction.

What’s fueling GOOG momentum? Trump Calls Off Iran Strikes Sending Risk Assets Higher Trump announced Saturday he was standing down from planned military action against Iran after being asked by Tehran and other regional nations to pause and allow negotiations to proceed.

In a Truth Social post, Trump said the U.S. had been ready to strike at levels of military force not seen since World War II but pulled back after receiving requests to hold off.

The terms he outlined include a full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and an end to Iran’s nuclear program.

The Strait, which carried roughly a fifth of global crude oil before the conflict began in February, has been repeatedly disrupted throughout the fighting.

White House to Host AI Companies for Cybersecurity Framework Meeting Adding a sector-specific catalyst, the White House confirmed to CNBC it will host artificial intelligence companies Tuesday to discuss a newly completed framework for reviewing the cybersecurity capabilities of the industry’s most powerful models.

The meeting centers on a voluntary program Trump ordered in June directing federal officials to create a process for determining whether models under development qualify as covered frontier models.

Under the program, participating developers can provide the government access to those models for up to 30 days before broader distribution, giving officials and companies an opportunity to jointly assess whether advanced systems could be used to discover software vulnerabilities or carry out sophisticated cyberattacks.

Google is expected to attend alongside OpenAI and Anthropic according to The Information, with the White House confirming it has been working with a broader set of industry partners.

Analysts Remain Constructive Following Earnings Wall Street has stayed bullish on Alphabet following last week’s results even as a handful of firms made modest adjustments to their targets.

The stock carries a consensus Buy rating with an average price target of $418.60.

JP Morgan kept its Overweight rating while trimming its target to $420, TD Cowen maintained its Buy and held its target at $475 and Oppenheimer held its Outperform while lowering its target to $400, all moves made July 23.

The Chart: Uptrend Intact, But The Short-Term Setup Still Has A Catch The longer-term trend remains intact with Alphabet trading 14.4% above its 200-day moving average and up more than 90% over the past twelve months, a backdrop that encourages buyers to treat pullbacks as opportunities.

The near-term picture carries more nuance however, with the 20-day moving average sitting below the 50-day, a bearish crossover that can limit follow-through if momentum fades.

MACD is above its signal line with a positive histogram, pointing to improving upside pressure and easing downside risk.

Key resistance sits at $374 where breakouts have historically attracted profit-taking, while $348.50 near the 20-day and 100-day moving average zone represents the nearest meaningful floor where buyers are likely to step in on any pullback.

GOOG Shares Are Moving Higher GOOG Price Action: Alphabet shares were up 4.83% at $373.88 at the time of publication on Monday, according to Pro.
