Corn and Soybean futures slip
Corn and Soybean futures decline
Grain markets experienced a broadly lower close on Friday, driven by shifting weather expectations.
December Corn futures ended the week down 23.75 cents but maintained a monthly gain, while Soybean futures similarly dropped 66 cents for the week but finished the month higher.
Wheat futures mirrored this price action, posting weekly losses alongside monthly gains.
A key driver for the late-week pressure was an improved weekend weather forecast, though the 8-to-14-day outlook points to above-normal temperatures and drier conditions for areas west of central Illinois.
Additionally, the USDA reported another flash sale of 252,000 metric tons of soybeans to unknown destinations, highlighting ongoing export activity amid the shifting weather narrative.
