Despite the beat, the stock is slipping as investors focus on the idea that second-quarter revenue growth cooled versus recent quarters and the guidance raise was modest.
Tempus also pointed to 31% year-over-year oncology volume growth and said Data Licensing & Modeling revenue rose 36% year-over-year, but traders are still debating how durable that pace is into the back half.
Revenue also topped the Street’s $379.7 million consensus, even as the stock runs into resistance after earnings and investors scrutinize what comes next.
Critical Levels To Watch For TEM Stock From a longer-term trend perspective, TEM is still in a clear downtrend: it’s trading 15.1% below the 20-day SMA, 14.9% below the 50-day SMA, 13.5% below the 100-day SMA, and 26.9% below the 200-day SMA.
That "below everything" setup usually means rallies get sold until price can reclaim at least the 50-day area.
Momentum also isn’t confirming a durable turn yet: MACD is below its signal line and the histogram is negative, which points to fading upside pressure versus the prior upswing.
In plain terms, when MACD sits under its signal line, it often means buyers are losing control unless the stock can rebuild momentum.
The bigger-picture backdrop still matters here: the 50-day SMA is below the 200-day SMA (a death cross that occurred in January), which tends to keep intermediate-term trend traders cautious.
With the stock down 23.40% over the past 12 months and sitting much closer to its 52-week low ($40.77) than its high ($104.32), the burden of proof remains on the bulls.
Key Resistance: $51.00 — a round-number zone that lines up closely with the 50-day SMA area where rebounds can stall Key Support: $42.50 — a nearby floor near the current range where buyers have previously stepped in TEM Stock Price Activity Update TEM Stock Price Activity: Tempus AI shares were down 2.30% at $43.27 at the time of publication on Friday, according to Pro data.
