The company received a major U.S. government contract modification for PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement interceptors.
Lockheed Martin Wins Major PAC-3 MSE Award The U.S. government awarded Lockheed Martin a seven-year undefinitized contract action modification worth up to $53.86 billion.
The award raises the total potential value of the multiyear contract to $58.62 billion, including a $4.7 billion contract action awarded in April for the first year.
Lockheed Martin said the funding will support plans to triple PAC-3 MSE production capacity by the end of 2030.
The company also expects to increase employment at its Camden, Arkansas, facility by about 50%, from 1,200 workers to approximately 1,850.
The site handles final all-up round production of PAC-3 MSE interceptors.
Production Expansion And Defense Strategy The multiyear procurement supports the Department of Defense’s Acquisition Transformation Strategy.
It aims to provide long-term demand visibility, expand production capacity and strengthen the defense supply chain.
PAC-3 MSE defends against advanced air and missile threats.
Lockheed Martin said the interceptor has been deployed in Ukraine during Operation Epic Fury and in missions worldwide.
The agreement marks Lockheed Martin’s second major multiyear contract under the department’s new acquisition model.
It follows a $35 billion award to accelerate Terminal High Altitude Area Defense interceptor production.
Lockheed Martin plans to invest $8 billion to $9 billion through 2030 to modernize more than 20 U.S. facilities and increase munitions output.
