Crude Oil Down Over 5%; Boeing Shares Rise After Q2 Results

U.S. stocks traded mostly higher midway through trading, with the Dow Jones index gaining more than 1% on Tuesday.

The Dow traded up 1.25% to 52,860.91 while the NASDAQ slipped 0.01% to 24,928.70.

The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 0.34% to 7,438.49.

Leading and Lagging Sectors Consumer staples shares jumped by 3.6% on Tuesday.

In trading on Tuesday, information technology stocks fell by 2.5%.

Top Headline The Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA ) stock gained around 5% in Tuesday’s session after the aerospace company reported second-quarter 2026 results.

Boeing posted an adjusted loss of 76 cents per share, wider than the 30-cent loss estimate, while revenue rose 8% year over year to $24.56 billion, beating the $24.245 billion estimate.

Equities Trading UP Kiniksa Pharmaceuticals Internatinl, PLC (NASDAQ: KNSA ) shares shot up 21% to $76.97 after the company reported better-than-expected second-quarter financial results and raised its FY26 sales guidance above estimates.

Shares of OPKO Health Inc (NASDAQ: OPK ) got a boost, surging 30% to $1.62 after the company reported better-than-expected second-quarter sales results.

Itron Inc ( NASDAQ: ITRI ) shares were also up, gaining 23% to $104.51 after the company reported better-than-expected second-quarter adjusted EPS results and raised its FY26 adjusted EPS guidance above estimates.

Equities Trading DOWN Sunpower Inc ( NASDAQ: SPWR ) shares dropped 33% to $0.33 after the company reported preliminary second-quarter results.

Shares of Enlivex Ltd ( NASDAQ: ENLV ) were down 33% to $2.86 after announcing a $400,000,000 private placement.

Amkor Technology Inc (NASDAQ: AMKR ) was down, falling 23% to $46.55 after the company reported second-quarter financial results and issued third-quarter sales guidance below estimates.

Commodities In commodity news, oil traded down 5.4% to $78.17 while gold traded down 0.38 at $4,055.50.

Silver traded down 1.7% to $57.705 on Tuesday, while copper fell 0.2% to $6.3672.

Euro zone European shares were mixed today.

The eurozone’s STOXX 600 rose 0.1%, while Spain’s IBEX 35 Index slipped 0.1% London’s FTSE 100 rose 0.6%, Germany’s DAX fell 0.1%, while France’s CAC 40 gained 0.3%.

Asia Pacific Markets Asian markets closed mostly lower on Tuesday, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 dipping 3.95%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index surging 0.41%, China’s Shanghai Composite declining 1.16% and India’s BSE Sensex slipping 0.09%.

Economics The FHFA house price index rose 0.3% month-over-month in May, compared to a 0.1% decline in April.

The U.S. goods trade deficit shrank to $101.5 billion in June versus a 14-month high of $105.9 billion in the previous month.

U.S. wholesale inventories increased 0.3% month-over-month to $945.9 billion in June, in-line with the revised 0.3% gain in May and higher than market estimates of a 0.2% gain.

The S&P Cotality Case-Shiller Home Price Index increased 1.6% year-over-year in May, following a revised 1.2% gain in April.
