The Kospi index dropped as much as -10.9%, to the lowest level since mid-April after triggering its 9th circuit breaker of 2026 dragged down by a broad retreat in tech stocks. Sk Hynix (SKHY) plummeted about 12%, and Samsung slumped nearly 13%. The Kospi gauge is now down -36% from its June peak.
