Experts bullish on Intel results amid AI, data center strength

Intel (INTC) is scheduled to report results of its fiscal second quarter after the market close on July 23 with a conference call scheduled for 5:00 pm ET. What to watch for: GUIDANCE: Along with its last report, Intel guided for Q2 adjusted earnings per share of 20c on revenue of $13.8B-$14.8B. At the time, analysts were expecting Q2 EPS of 8c on revenue of $13.06B, but those figures have since jumped to 22c and $14.45B, respectively. "We delivered robust Q1 results, reflecting the growing and essential role of the CPU in the AI era and unprecedented demand for silicon, as well as our disciplined execution to expand available supply," Intel CFO David Zinsner said at the time. AI DEMAND: Intel's efforts in artificial intelligence and data centers appears to be taking center stage ahead of the quarterly print, and experts will be watching what news will be coming out of Intel Foundry and the agentic CPU market. Of note, last month, BofA upgraded Intel to Buy from Underperform with a price target of $135, up from $96, citing higher confidence in Intel's opportunity to help address industry constraints in leading edge wafers and packaging as well as supply into a much larger agentic.
