South Korea’s JoongAng Ilbo reports SK Hynix (SKHY.O) is negotiating to acquire Intel’s (INTC.O) large semiconductor campus in Ohio, aiming to start front-end production of memory chips at the site within five years. SK Hynix is conducting internal reviews and seeking required government approvals; price and timing are still being worked out. If completed, the deal would help SK Hynix meet U.S. domestic-production requirements and provide cash relief to Intel’s strained foundry business.
