USD/ARS Surges After Argentina's Inflation Softens to 1.9% in June
The Argentine peso weakened against the US dollar on Wednesday after Argentina's consumer price index rose 1.9%, measured on a monthly basis, in June, compared with 2.1% in May, and remained below the market expectations for a 2.5% growth. On a yearly basis, the inflation rate in Argentina grew to 33.50% in June from 33.20% in May. The next mild event for the Argentine peso will be the Balance of Trade for June, due on July 21. At the time of writing, the USD/ARS pair was trading at 1,472.500, with a 0.17% gain during American trading hours on Wednesday.
