Trump Administration Launches AI Cybersecurity Clearinghouse Gold Eagle
The White House on Tuesday announced the launch of Gold Eagle, a clearinghouse designed to coordinate cybersecurity vulnerability detection and patching across critical infrastructure sectors, in partnership with the Treasury Department, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of War. The initiative, established under President Donald Trump's June 2 executive order on AI innovation and security, aims to leverage frontier AI capabilities to speed exploit detection and reduce duplicative scanning efforts. Gold Eagle has already begun intaking and prioritizing identified cybersecurity vulnerabilities across industries, coordinating scanning verifications, according to the release. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the department is working with the private sector to safeguard financial institutions, while Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said the initiative brings a "wartime footing" to cyber defense.
