Attacks Target 3 Tankers Off Omani Coast; UKMTO Issues Navigation Warnings

Three oil tankers came under separate attacks off the Omani coast, with three crew members reported missing, Oman's Maritime Security Center said Tuesday. The state-owned Oman News Agency reported one confirmed fatality. A Liberia-flagged vessel suffered an engine-room explosion and fire about 40 nautical miles off South A'Sharqiyah, outside Omani waters. Authorities safely evacuated all 23 crew members, who escaped without injuries, the Maritime Security Center said. Another Liberia-flagged vessel was attacked about 8.5 nautical miles off Musandam, resulting in engine failure. Authorities evacuated all 21 crew members, while six suffered injuries of varying severity, according to MSC. A separate attack hit a third Liberia-flagged vessel, owned by a UAE-based company, about 9.6 nautical miles off the Musandam coast. Authorities evacuated 18 crew members, while three remain missing as a Royal Navy of Oman vessel tracks the situation.
