Thailand Bourse Suspends Banpu, Banpu Power Trading Ahead of Merger
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will suspend trading in shares of Banpu (SET:BANPU) and Banpu Power (SET:BPP) for 10 business days from July 17 to Aug. 3, at the companies' request. The suspension is intended to facilitate the allocation of shares in NewCo to shareholders of both companies and complete other arrangements related to NewCo's planned listing on the Thai bourse. The exchange advised investors to monitor further announcements regarding the amalgamation, which could affect investment decisions. SET also said Banpu's ticker symbol will change from BANPU to BANPUU effective July 17, with the stock remaining under the SP trading suspension designation.
