Japan Earnings Wrap: Sansan and Sakata Seed Surge, Money Forward Drops

Japanese stocks reporting earnings traded mixed on Tuesday, with gains led by software and seed-producing firms, but fintech firms came under pressure. Sansan (TYO:4443) rose 6% after reporting full-year results. Profit attributable to owners of the parent soared to 6.78 billion yen, earnings per share increased to 53.02 yen while net sales jumped 24.4% to 53.8 billion yen. The software company forecasts a profit attributable to owners of the parent of 8.4 billion yen to 10.2 billion yen, and basic earnings per share of 66.41 yen to 81.04 yen for the fiscal year ending May 31, 2027. Sakata Seed's (TYO:1377) shares gained over 4% after reporting a 25% increase in full-year profit. It logged a 12.2 billion yen profit for the fiscal year ended May 31, with basic earnings per share increasing to 284.46 yen while net sales jumped 12% to 104.3 billion yen. For the fiscal year ending May 31, 2027, the seed producer expects attributable profit of 10 billion yen, basic EPS of 236.63 yen, and net sales of 110 billion yen. Money Forward (TYO:3994) fell 7% after returning to profit in the first half. Profit attributable to owners of the parent stood at 553 million yen, basic earnings.

It logged a 12.2 billion yen profit for the fiscal year ended May 31, with basic earnings per share increasing to 284.46 yen while net sales jumped 12% to 104.3 billion yen.

For the fiscal year ending May 31, 2027, the seed producer expects attributable profit of 10 billion yen, basic EPS of 236.63 yen, and net sales of 110 billion yen.

Money Forward (TYO:3994) fell 7% after returning to profit in the first half.

Profit attributable to owners of the parent stood at 553 million yen, basic earnings.
