Mira Pharmaceuticals Says SKNY-1 in Obesity, Addiction Shows 'Favorable' Bioavailability in Preclinical Studies
Mira Pharmaceuticals (MIRA) said Monday that preclinical studies evaluating the oral formulation of SKNY-1 for obesity and addiction-related disorders showed "favorable" bioavailability along with reproducible systemic exposure and robust brain penetration. The studies further showed substantial liver exposure following oral administration, with peak plasma concentrations being observed at about six to 12 hours after dosing, the company said. According to Mira, it will continue to evaluate tissue exposure, pharmacodynamic activity and therapeutic efficacy as SKNY-1 progresses through further preclinical development.
