HeartBeam Says US Patent Expands Capabilities of Portable ECG Device
HeartBeam (BEAT) said Tuesday it received a new US patent covering acoustic sensing and thoracic impedance measurement for its portable ECG device, expanding the platform's potential use in monitoring structural heart disease and heart failure. The company said the patent covers the integration of acoustic sensors and thoracic impedance measurement into its existing ECG device, enabling heart sound analysis and fluid monitoring without changing the device's form factor. The acoustic sensing and thoracic impedance capabilities are investigational and not FDA cleared, HeartBeam said. HeartBeam said the patent increases its global patent portfolio to 26 issued patents covering signal acquisition, ECG synthesis algorithms, diagnostic applications and device hardware.
